In keeping with my focus on drawing, my husband and I have decided to open a gallery dedicated to exhibiting contemporary Canadian drawing.  It has been two years in the making and now Line Gallery is set to open this month on October 26th, 2011.  Olexander Wlasenko will be the first show in our exciting line-up this year, with Robert Malinowski, Katie Belcher, Liv Bonli and Aleks Bartosik to follow.

Line Gallery will be exhibiting emerging and established artists practicing in drawing, with shows primarily focusing on a single artist’s work. In addition, the gallery will support artist talks, conduct interviews and maintain online records of the exhibitions with the goal of documenting Canadian drawing. I am thrilled to announce that I am now represented by Halde Galerie in Switzerland. Halde Galerie is focused on representing a range of high caliber Canadian artists. This is to announce the official launch of the Nipissing Arts Council. The Nipissing Arts Council was created to support and advocate for arts of all disciplines within the Nipissing District. As the Chairperson, I believe the Nipissing District has a lot to offer when it comes to the arts and we are hoping to help promote our region’s talent.

We have recently brought our website online at www.nipissingartscouncil.com and we hope that it will become a resource for artists, arts organizations, and the community to connect with what is happening in the area.
